Blogs and Podcasts
Here are a sample of blogs which I add to periodically. There are more on my facebook page. And, if you have 40 minutes, have fun listening to one of my podcasts as I answer questions posed by Jacky Power, aka the Therapeutic Poet.
Eco-sorting - This does not mean minimalism!
EcoLiving means living lightly on the planet. We all need to contribute to the solution here. Sometimes people feel scared about letting go of things because they know they will regret it later.
Dealing with Bereavement:
The extra belongings may have been given to you. You may have inherited them. This can make it even harder to know how to resolve it. A professional organiser can map out a route with you through this new and challenging territory.
Are we shapeshifters or are we shifted by shapes?
One of my recent clients had an aversion to green. My last one had an aversion to pink. Interesting to know whether these were drivers in their decisions to declutter.
Making the Move
Have you been told you have too many belongings for your house? A professional organiser can map out a route through this new and challenging territory.
How much do we need - How long is that piece of string?
These days most of us lead busy lives with little time to spare. It's easy to use our immediate surroundings as a dumping ground. We have more'stuff'thanwecaneverassimilate!
Carbellous!
Putting the pedal on decluttering is an interesting car ride. As we accelerate the clear out and find that a large proportion of what we thought was useful and which we have stored in our world is no longer needed - and unlikely to be needed for the foreseeable five year future, we can see what we treasure most once again.
It will come in handy some day!
The life and times of a belonging starts out often as the answer to a need. Hurrah, we have found that teaspoon set we needed, the MDF cutter to make portholes, the shoes that go with that outfit, the spice sauce we need for tonight's meal.
I want to get on top of this chaos once and for all - it has got the better of me
I often hear clients talking in this way about their living space. There are assumptions about this - that we are now at the bottom of the dynamic - and need to climb up the side to get to the top and also that the top is going to be a good place to be.
Decluttering is out ! Really?
That is what I heard from a friend recently. What she actually meant was that minimalism was out. It was never in!!!
